After moving to Newcastle from Sydney in 2012 we decided to take the plunge and build our dream home. We are a family of six and after countless trips to display homes, a modified version of the Heathcote 35 was the perfect choice. Now the fun begins.....

Silt fence up
In the morning drove past the block and someone was putting up a silt fence. Met with the SS this afternoon and with all this rain, nothing else has been done. Portaloo and fence should have gone up yesterday but with the rain looks like it will happen when the weather has cleared. Hopefully in the next two weeks, weather pending we should have some signs of a slab on our block

Good news!
Good news today. I received a phone call from EB saying our file has been moved to the next phase - construction. An excavator should be on the block next week (depending on weather). Yeah!

Light fittings
We are having the following light fittings for our dining and living area. We had one from our old house and I purchased another one from Beacon Lighting to match.
And for the staircase we really want a feature light fitting that is easy to clean and change the light globes as it will be pretty hard to reach.
Thinking of this light fitting from Recollections which is currently on sale. But thinking of a dark bronze colour

20 days after pegout - no go start date
Yesterday 15 June was 20 days after pegout so EB should have started construction. Nothing happened. Contacted our CSO and she said there was delays due to Eden Brae ordering our constructions material and making sure they get it right.
Hopefully this time next week there may be some action on our site.
