The slab was laid on Friday 19 July. The concreters started work at 7.30am and they only had one hour left of work in the afternoon and it started to rain. The SS mentioned that he will have a look at the slab on Monday and they may have to grind the garage slab before the brickwork starts and towards the end they may have to top up the garage slab.
After moving to Newcastle from Sydney in 2012 we decided to take the plunge and build our dream home. We are a family of six and after countless trips to display homes, a modified version of the Heathcote 35 was the perfect choice. Now the fun begins.....

And the rain starts again
Site is still too wet to work on according to the concreteron Friday. We went there on the weekend and it dried up a fair bit but there was still water on some spots.
And now being Tuesday, guess what it start to rain again today so I think we will be waiting a long time for a dry site.

No action on the block - too wet
Have not heard from our Site Supervisor this week so I thought I should send him an email asking what is going on. Have driven past the block and all that has happened this week is a fence.

I have spoken to the concreter, they have been keeping an eye on the site and will start when they think it will be Ok to put the excavator in without causing too much damage, they are concerned with the area holding water and also the filled area as when they have the machine turning around it will damage the platform too much and result in high additional costs for them in concrete. I will let you know when they expect site start.
Drove past the block today and there is still a bit of water but it is slowly draining. It is supposed to rain next Tuesday so lets hope the weather forecast is wrong.
